Practical guide · EVV visit review

Review an EVV visit with the facts in reach.

Published 2026-10-06 · Updated 2026-10-21

Bring the scheduled service, recorded visit events and staff explanation into the review. Keep the decision about what happened separate from a location result, saved status or transmission response.

Your people verify facts, correct AI drafts, sign records and approve consequential actions.

Connections your team can evaluate

Connect the systems behind your agency’s work.

Bring visit records, claim information, pharmacy messages and reviewed hours into the next workflow. Start from existing facts instead of retyping them; your team checks the source, approves the next step and reviews the response.

Stedi

Claims · Explicit human release

Prepare supported claims from reviewed service records.

Review supported non-EVV institutional claims, complete the required setup and evidence checks, and explicitly authorize release. Keep payer responses and claim-specific remittance details available for follow-up. Receipt, acceptance and payment remain separate outcomes.

Intuit QuickBooks

QuickBooks · Reviewed-hours preparation

Map staff and prepare reviewed hours for the next step.

Use the configured QuickBooks connection to read the employee roster, review mappings and prepare a locked Regular Hours batch. The current workflow does not transmit payroll or run payments. Your existing payroll system and responsible people retain those decisions.

CareBridge

EVV · Program-specific setup

Move a reviewed visit to the required handoff.

The configured CareBridge workflow prepares visit files and records responses. Confirm your program, agency enrollment and required specification before relying on the connection.

Del Mar Medical pharmacy

Pharmacy HL7 intake · Staff verification

Prepare incoming order information for review.

Configured Del Mar Medical connections receive supported pharmacy messages and prepare medication-reconciliation drafts, giving staff incoming details to check instead of retyping them. Authorized staff resolve the person match and check the source before the appropriate order-activation process.

ChatGPT by OpenAIOpenAI · ChatGPT

MCP connection · Agency-authorized reads

Ask ChatGPT about the records you’re allowed to read.

Authorized agency administrators can connect an agency-approved ChatGPT account to look up permitted LunahUP records, with source links for review. Agency settings, permissions and required data agreements apply. This connection reads records; it cannot change or approve them, release claims or send a response. People take those actions in LunahUP.

Also evaluate Outlook records-request responses and screening-source imports in the connection guide.

A connection does not establish every state’s coverage, activate an order or prove acceptance or payment. Confirm the required source, human approval and response for your agency.

The work behind the review

A visit question can create several rounds of reconciliation.

The schedule, recorded punches and explanation may each answer a different part of the question. Reviewing them together gives your authorized staff a specific visit to investigate instead of another list of unexplained times.

01 · A specific review step

Identify the full visit before interpreting the alert.

Check the person, service date, scheduled start and end, and responsible staff. Include the whole time range for a visit that crosses midnight.

An incomplete punch record identifies a question. It does not establish by itself whether the planned support happened.

  • Check that the schedule and event belong to the same visit.
  • Review both check-in and check-out information.

02 · A specific review step

Read verification outcomes in context.

Available location or identity outcomes contribute information to a review. They do not replace the service context or the responsible staff explanation.

A weak signal, missing result or successful check needs to be understood alongside the rest of the record. Authorized people investigate rather than infer an entire service from one status.

  • Distinguish unavailable information from a negative finding.
  • Clarify uncertainty with the responsible people.

03 · A specific review step

Preserve the reason for the reviewer’s decision.

Use the authorized correction or disposition workflow and keep the explanation with the record. Follow applicable program requirements rather than inventing a timestamp to remove an exception.

The published synthetic example shows a missing-clock-in finding, an administrator’s test cancellation and a saved explanation retained on reload. It demonstrates a synthetic cancellation, not a corrected real-care time, independent approval or proof of service delivery.

  • Review the original context before making a change.
  • Check what the saved result establishes and what it leaves unresolved.

04 · A specific review step

Confirm the required external handoff separately.

EVV connections depend on state, payer, service and setup. Confirm the available aggregator connection and supported workflow before relying on a transmission.

Receipt, acceptance and claim payment are separate outcomes. A saved visit or successful send does not by itself establish that the service is billable or has been paid.

  • Inspect the response required for your next step.
  • Investigate errors without replacing the original facts.

Questions before the next step

Know what the workflow establishes.

Does GPS prove that a service occurred?

No. Location is one part of the available information. Authorized people review the service context and source facts.

Does the synthetic example show a corrected actual visit?

No. It shows a test cancellation and retained explanation. It does not prove corrected care time, external acceptance or payment.

Does LunahUP support every state EVV connection?

No universal coverage is promised. Confirm your state, payer, service, aggregator and available configuration.

Keep the work connected

Choose the next part of the review.

Start with one recurring task

Bring the visit question that keeps returning to the supervisor.

Inspect a fictional visit, its available evidence and the human decision needed before any next step.

Book a 30-minute compliance demo

Use sample data. No patient or employee records needed for the demo. Booking does not create an account or start billing.
