Kia Brewer: What Can I Expect During My First Appointment?

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, explore your experiences and concerns, and begin identifying what you would like to accomplish. You don't need to have everything figured out, and there is no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. My priority is to create an environment where you feel respected, supported, and comfortable being yourself.

Planning your next step

Who appears in the CBT listings?

Published profiles that explicitly include CBT in their therapy approaches appear here. Check each profile’s credentials, services and appointment information.

Does listing an approach mean the clinician is certified in it?

A listed approach is not a certification badge. Ask the clinician about relevant training, experience and any specific credential you want to confirm.

How do I contact a matching provider?

Open a profile and use its appointment request, email or call option when listed. The practice confirms the clinician, service, price and availability.

Find the Tennessee care you need

Ask how the approach fits the service offered

An approach listed as CBT is provider-supplied information. It does not establish a separate certification or that every member of a practice uses that approach.

Ask which clinician offers it, how the service is delivered and what you should expect from an initial appointment. The provider can discuss whether the service is appropriate for your goals.
